These 7 weekly classes will provide the opportunity to:
These 7 weekly classes will provide the opportunity to:
- Discuss common themes that we face as we Seniors/Elders seek to continue living independently
- Discover the gifts of aging and finding enrichment in community
- Learn ways to create a positive experience in this period of life
- Gain understanding of cohousing essentials: self governance, sustainable design, community meals and shared activities.
Curriculum
September 23 - Aging in Place, Aging in Community
Assessment and steps to self determination
September 30 - Realities of Getting Older
Raising awareness and planning for successful aging
October 7 - Group process
Learning new communication and decision-making skills
October 14 - Co-Care and Outside Care
Range of guidelines among which Cohousing Projects choose
*Sunday, October 20 - Field Trip to CoHo Eco-Village in Corvallis
October 21 - Co-Healing
The role of community in helping to bring health and happiness
October 28 - The Economics of Aging
The finances of various senior living options
November 4 - Elder Wisdom and Embracing Risk
What we have to offer the world and risks of our various options
